Description: Pair of regulation 1851Buff Epaulettes Marked Horstman. These buff cloth epaulettes are in good condition with one being stained and one only light surface dirt from age and storage throughout. The body of each is covered in a buff colored cloth with a clamshell that is highlighted by two concentric rows of twisted material, the outer larger and thicker than the inner. Each epaulette has a sewn buttonhole for attaching to a uniform jacket. Under the clamshell the lining is faintly stamped "W. H. HORSTMAN & SONS..." in black ink only visible on one epaulette. It is possible that these epaulettes were once yellow as prescribed for engineers and faded. No returns.
