Description: 'EMIT' and 'EMIT II' are the two 80 page magazines published by Tyndale House Publishers (USA) in 1970 and 1972 during the period that a TIME Magazine cover described as 'The Jesus Revolution' in the USA. Tyndale House used the idea of a widely read weekly news magazine such as TIME, LOOK or LIFE serving the public two thousand years ago. The first 'EMIT Special Edition' focuses on in-depth reporting 'on an extraordinary man who has just been executed, a man called Jesus of Nazareth'. The second 'EMIT II Special Edition' focuses on the period around and following the Resurrection. As well as the in-depth articles, interviews (Caiphas, Pilate, Disciples etc), the magazines also feature advertisements as they might have appeared 2,000 years ago. The Jesus Revolution / Movement of the early seventies among American Youth (particularly on the West Coast) led to a world wide revival of the Christian Faith among younger people. A film about the Movement entitled 'Jesus Revolution' and featuring Kelsey Grammer (Fraiser) has recently been released. The 80 page magazines measure approximately 21.3cm x 27.4cm and have been covered by plastic to protect them. A name has been lightly stamped on the inside front page and some of the centre pages of the magazines are loose. The magazines are complete and in good condition. I searched the internet to aid in pricing and was only able to discover a copy in the Dallas Theological Seminary. I have owned these unusual and thought provoking magazines since I bought them in the early 1970s but am now retired and in the process of downsizing.
