He previously held positions as a ski tour guide, a pre-school teacher to minority children, an assistant director for the United Cerebral Palsy Association and is a U.S. Air Force veteran. In his mid-thirties he felt a call to enter the ministry then earned degrees from Temple University and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. He served as a church pastor until his retirement. He now lives in Wisconsin and volunteers as a chaplain for the county sheriffs office. His primary motivation for writing this book is to help comfort those whove lost loved ones. He is especially empathetic to those who are grieving - having lost eleven of his family members during one difficult six year period.
