It is a programmatic CD and the connecting link is a sonata and variations by Giuseppe Tartini among which are interspersed more modern works and we go through a landscape of light and shadow, from traditional tonality to atonality and serialism and back to tonality. Modern works are bold, deep, never boring and produce affection, except perhaps Petrassi's work in which every violinistic trick is exploited. The violinist is able to change her tone according to the piece and it is impressive how modern Tartini sounds in her hands when confronted with others.
