See Scans for details. Biography Elisha Kent Kane Wetherill, listed American artist, lived in New York Philadelphia, and Aberdeen, NC. Attended the University of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Studied in Paris at the Academy Julian with Jean-Paul Laurens and with James Abbott McNeil Whistler. Member of the National Academy of Design, the Philadelphia Sketch Club, Salmagundi Club, and Allied Artists’ Association and the Brooklyn Society of Etchers. He exhibited extensively his whole life.
