Johann Friedrich Münchenberg (1780s-1835/1836) married Johanne Eleonore Busch about 1803, and he worked as a farm laborer and then a landowning farmer in Turowo and Meseritz, Prussia. There was religious persecuriton of Lutherans in Prussia, and by 1834 a number of Lutheran ministers were discussing leading their congregations to another country with freedom of worship. Friedrich and two sons were conscripted to serve in the Prussian army, and then Friedrich died as the year was changing in 1835/1836. His widow had six children at home, one son in the army, and one daughter as a nursing sister. She sold her property and moved to Hamburg, Germany in 1836 with six children, preparing to immigrate to Australia. Two of her daughters decided not to leave (one had married). So Eleonore and four children immigrated in 1839, and arrived in Adelaide, South Australia in January 1839. They settled in Klemzig from 1839 to 1848 and then moved to Langmeil, South Australia. Descendants and relatives lived in South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and elsewhere. Includes some ancestry and history of Prussia to the late 1700s.
