Description: This elegant wool and cotton 1890's authentic Pennsylvania Amish quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, found in central Pennsylvania.It measures 66" X 78" and is in fair condition, with surface dirt throughout, wear in much of the brown (mostly on the front, but also some on the back) and a 3" tear at one edge. There is quilting around the piecework and in straight line and diamond designs in the background, all t 5-6 stitches to the inch. The back and hand stitched, rolled binding are the same early brown print, and the batting is thin. RARELY do you find Amish quilts this early -- it would make a terrific wall hanging!
