Description: For sale is the Electric Cobalt Blue Crayfish (Procambarus Alleni). These juvenile freshwater crustaceans are relatives of the lobster. Though most crayfish are reclusive in nature, this tank bred species is incredibly active and enjoys exploring their environment instead of hiding! They love to climb driftwood and perch on rocks and plants. They can live up to 5 – 6 years and grow up to 4-6 inches with proper care. All of our crayfish have extremely high quality colorization. They appear electric blue and just after molting have a purplish hue. Their color may appear dull after shipping due to stress but will return shortly after acclimating to their new tank. Crayfish are slow and clumsy in movement and therefore rarely a threat to most types of fish or other invertebrates. These crayfish have been bred and kept in an aquarium full of fish (Mollies, Danios, Plecos, Catfish, shrimps and snails) and have never killed any of them. They may try sometimes if they feel threatened but it ends up looking quite comical because they are simply too slow to catch anything. Effective at keeping tanks clean and reducing waste, they typically scrounge the bottom of the aquarium for anything organic to eat. They love to eat biofilm on driftwood, all types of algae, moss, leftover food the fish don’t eat, decaying plant matter, along with a steady diet of frozen blood worms and algae wafers.
