The obverse design honors World War II general and 34th president, Dwight D. Eisenhower. Based on the official Apollo 11 insignia, the reverse celebrates the first lunar landing. This coin makes a historic addition to any collection! Unfortunately, the Society for US Commemorative Coins (SUSCC) disbanded a few years ago due to a significant drop in membership and the increasing difficulty of getting fresh material for the group's quarterly journal. The group formed in 1983 and was active for about 30 years.
