Royal Mail recorded delivery If a recorded delivery item is not collected by a buyer from the post office, and it is eventually returned to me by the PO, if the buyer wants the item posted to them again they will need to pay the postage costs first before I can post it. If they want their money refunded, I will do this net of my initial postage costs and any unreturned selling fees. Claims For claims for damage occurred in the post, or for items missing from a package you will need to retain the envelope/packaging, as Royal Mail/Courier will need to see this for a claim to be made and validated and for a refund to be made to you. If you do not retain the packaging it will not be possible for a refund to be made. If the claim is for an item lost in the post, please allow time for Royal Mail / courier to investigate and declare the item missing before a refund can be made. To give you an idea of timescales, Royal Mail will not investigate the loss of an item to UK (signed for or normal post) until after 18 working days from date of posting; to Europe it is 25 working days, rest of the world is 32 working days.
