Description: A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued on March 23rd, 1977 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of talking motion pictures. The first "talkies" were made by synchronizing silent film with phonograph recordings. The stamps depict Edison's phonograph and a movie projector. These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office 47 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift to anyone interested in the history of the motion pictures and the phonograph or your favorite actor! See my other auctions for blocks of historical significance including other stamps dedicated to the entertainment industry and Thomas Edison and his inventions! All stamps are Mint Never Hinged. Shipping is $1.00 for first class mail. Additional stamp block auctions won, paid for in one COMBINED transaction and shipped at the same time are only 25 cents extra per auction (sheets and booklets not included), with a maximum shipping charge of $5.00, no matter how many auctions you win. Please pay for all of your auctions in one payment. All payments are to be in US currency only. I send stamps out when I receive your payment or the day after if the mail has already gone out. Thanks for looking at my auction. If you have any questions, please email me before bidding.
