Description: Edinburgh Scottish Silver Tongs Marked Fras Howden. c1797 Presented is wonderful pair of sterling silver tongs hallmarked for silver made in Edinburgh Scotland. I believe this item to have been made by Fras. Howden c1797-8 . I have placed a picture of my research in the photos above. This is an interesting piece with almond shaped ends and has no monogram. It has no dents or dings and only some fine scratches from gentle use. This is an excellent piece for the silver collector and a useful piece for almost any table or setting; perfect for a holiday gift.
