Description: This card shows the entrance to the Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburg, Indiana, a historical burial ground that dates back to the early days of the town. The first cemetery in early Edinburgh was on the slope of the Thompson hill at the west edge of the little developing village. Although early settlers were buried on the hill, most were later moved to the Edinburg Burying Ground after it was established in 1852. The name was later changed to Rest Haven Cemetery, which now is one of the major grave sites in the town.No publisher is listed, except “Barrett” noted on bottom left corner. This real-photo card was probably produced by the Barrett Funeral Home. Undivided back, white border, AZO stamp box. Card was likely produced in the early 1920s.
