Description: TThe item for sale is a silkscreen print after a chalk drawing of a ballerina created by the French artist Edgar Degas around the turn of the twentieth century. The silkscreen is fairly large format having a sheet size of 26" x 20". There is no inscription on the print indicating its origin but it is remarkably similar to a folio of silkscreen prints published around 1950 with the title "Degas Ballet Dancers Four Genuine Silkscreen Prints". That folio is only 12 1/2" x 18". This larger print is on high quality laid paper. There is a facsimile Degas signature on the image. The print was previously owned. The sheet is clean. The image is bold. There is some minor wrinkling to the sheet. A few edge tears. The image retains its original intensity. There is some roughness to the edges. The print will be shipped rolled in a tube.
