Story/Spoilers: Edgar Allan Poe’s The Premature Burial Adapted by: Richard Corben Artist: Richard CorbenColorists: Beth Corben Reed w/ Richard Corben Letterer: Nate Piekos of Blambot "The Premature Burial" is a horror short story by American writer Edgar Allan Poe, published in 1844 in The Philadelphia Dollar Newspaper. Its main character expresses concern about being buried alive. This fear was common in this period and Poe was taking advantage of the public interest. The story has been adapted to a film. Lucian is frustrated that his fiance, Victoria, because she will not give him sex and she does not believe in premartial sex. In his obession and pervision, Lucian has a plan. At a graveyard outing with Victoria, Lucian tries to ply her with wine but Victoria will not have it and storms away. But getting Victoria drunk was never Lucian's plan as Victoria soon "dies" from poisoning. Soon after the burial, Lucian digs up Victoria with necrophilia on his mind. All of a sudden her eyes open and she kicks Lucian, he falls back and hits his head on a stone. Lucian ends up getting buried alive... and goes totally insane while confined underground before his inevitable death... 9 pages Edgar Allan Poe’s The Cask of Amontillado Adapted by: Richard Corben Artist: Richard CorbenColorists: Beth Corben Reed w/ Richard Corben Letterer: Nate Piekos of Blambot "The Cask of Amontillado" is a short story by American writer Edgar Allan Poe, first published in the November 1846 issue of Godey's Lady's Book. The story, set in an unnamed Italian city at carnival time in an unspecified year, is about a man taking fatal revenge on a friend who, he believes, has insulted him. Like several of Poe's stories, and in keeping with the 19th-century fascination with the subject, the narrative revolves around a person being buried alive. Montresor invites Fortunato to sample amontillado that he has just purchased without proving its authenticity. Fortunato follows him into the Montresor family vaults, which also serve as catacombs. For unknown reasons, Montresor seeks revenge upon Fortunato and is actually luring him into a trap. At the end of the story, the narrator reveals that 50 years have passed since he took revenge and Fortunato's body has not been disturbed. 15 pages One-Shot Comic is bagged & triple boarded and will be carefully / securely packaged then shipped via USPS Priority Mail to ensure that it arrives to you perfectly and quickly.
