Included are the following two oversized (approx. 14-3/4" x 10-1/2") hardcover books: Popeye Volume One "I Yam What I Yam", in a first edition published in 2006. ISBN 978-1-56097-779-5 This first volume covers the years 1928 to 1930, and features Popeye's initial courtship of Olive Oyl, and introduces Sea Hag. Comic strips are reproduced in black and white (dailies) and in color (the Sunday editions). This volume includes a bio of Popeye's creator, and an introduction by Jules Feiffer. Condition of this oversize book is Very Good Minus, showing wear to the corners and spine ends, a moderate spine lean and a small tear to the top edge of the right front end paper. Popeye Volume Two "Well, Blow Me Down!", in a first edition published in 2007. ISBN 978-1-56097-874-9 This volume features an introduction by Mort Walker (creator of Beetle Bailey), and continues with an introduction by noted film and cartooning critic Donald Phelps. This second volume features work from 1930 to 1932, and most notably includes the debut of Segar's second greatest character: J. Wellington Wimpy. Comic strips are reproduced in black and white (dailies) and in color (the Sunday editions).
