Description: Circa Early 1950's Roberto Ortiz in Almendares Uniform in the Cuban Winter League Vintage 1 RFN Fotos Havana, Cuba Photograph Measuring 8" x 10". Ortiz was born in Cuba and played in the Major Leagues with the Washington Senators (1941-44) and Philadelphia Athletics (1949-50). He is shown in his Almendares Uniform after being eligible to play in the Cuban Winter League. Ortiz was such a star and popular player in Cuba for the Almendares that they made a movie about him in 1952 titled "Honor and Glory". Ortiz is shown shaking hands with one of the owners of the Alemndares Team. Crystal clear image with creasing and tears along the entire right side and some yellow discoloration in the white border area. Reverse has a RFN Fotos Stamp along with a Sporting News Authentic Collection hologram
