Description: Card 1- girl reading to 2 dachshunds. Card 2- two St. Bernards with flowers, addressed to Miss Ethel McClaire, but not mailed, good cond. Item 484010 ◊ Early-1900s Lot of Two Puppy Dog Themed Edwardian Postcards in Full Color Very cute and fun "Early-1900s Lot of Two Puppy Dog Themed Edwardian Postcards in Full Color." Both cards are addressed on the back to Miss Ethel McClaire, in Mt. Union, Pennsylvania.The first card has a lovely photo of a young girl reading a book to her two dachshunds. Her clothing and the furniture scream "Edwardian Era." The postcard has an undivided back dating it to before 1907. Although it was addressed, it has no stamp and was not sent through the mail. There is no manufacturer mentioned on the card. It measures 5-1/2" x 3-1/2". Although the postcard is very clean both in front and in back, the surface and edges have mild damage, and the corners have appreciable damage, and are torn or dog-eared. However the card would be very appropriate for crafting. The second card shows the scene of two young St. Bernards in sitting/laying in a field of wild flowers, looking at the minnows in the pond. The card was produced in Germany by TH, E., L. Theochrom, Serie 977. It has a divided back, a stamp and was cancelled in 1908. And there is also a very long message in a small, hurried script. If you get really motivated, you might be able to read it. The postcard measures 5-1/2" x 3-1/4 inches.
