Description: EAPG Bryce Higbee NAIL HEAD/NAILHEAD Sugar Bowl We are pleased to offer this lovely Early American Pattern Glass open sugar bowl in the NAILHEAD pattern (aka: Gem) manufactured by the Boston Sandwich Company and by Bryce Higbee and Company circa 1885s. It was made in a complete table service. From the book WARMAN'S PATTERN GLASS: "Manufactured by Bryce, Higbee & Co., Pittsburgh, PA, c. 1885. Shards found at Sandwich Glass Co., MA. Non-flint, clear, also found in ruby stained." This footed sugar bowl stands 4 1/2" tall and measures 4" across the top rim. It is much larger than most sugar bowls made today which is typical of Victorian times. It has a distinct 3 part mold line and the base is arched. The base measures 3-1/2" in diameter. This sugar bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage. Just a lovely piece of Victorian Nailhead glass that you are sure to want to add to your Early American Pattern Glass Collection.
