Description: This is a nifty, Civil War, "Soldier's Letter(actual letter no longer present)," cover(quite clean; reduced a bit at the left, but w/a back flap that's more than 95% intact) cancelled in Cairo(a pretty good, balloon cancel), Illinois, and sent to a Mrs. C.M. Sperry, Waverly, Illinois, in April 1862! Edward Sperry, of the 14th Regiment, Illinois Infantry, was married to a Catharine Margaret (Hilagus) Sperry! As for the rust red, Scott #65 it is in fine condition! Noted imperfections aside, this remains a really neat cover sent from Edward Sperry, of the 14th Regiment, Illinois Infantry!
