Description: A History of the Use of Incense in Divine Worship (Alcuin Club Collections XIII)E. G. Cuthbert F. AtchleyPublished by Longmans, Green and Co., London, New York, Bombay & Calcutta, 1909Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. First Edition. xxx, 404pp., viii (ads). Ex-library, rebound in black buckram with gilt lettering in spine. Typical library treatments. As is often the case for this title, a number of plates (approximately 7) are detached from the volume, though they are neatly laid in. The volume has been fully collated and all called for illustrations are present and in the proper place. A good number of pages, including some plates, admit to tiny tears at extremities. Again, this is a common trait of this original printing. One illustration admits to a small stain to top, blank part of margin. Several leaves admit to a small, red marker stain near fore-edges. The reading of the text is not effected. Overall, though the text block is square and the binding largely sound, this volume will take a little extra care in handling. Seller Inventory # 036922
