Description: These are nice upgrades over the cheap sapphire cartridges that come on budget turntables. If you take this cartridge, add some mass (piece of metal, a coin, whatever), and track at 2.5 grams, you can make those budget turntable setups sound warm, with good bass and dynamics. Output is 3.5mv. Tracking states 2.3g, but I recommend adjusting it to as high as 3 grams on low mass arms and headshells (with a high mass arm, or high mass headshell, tracking can come down). Because this is an entry level cartridge, it is built "tougher" to prevent breakage. That means that compliance is lower than a Shure or Pickering or Stanton. In general, the problem with cheap consumer tonearms is crappy bearings, low mass and too much resonance. You can damp the resonance with heat shrink. You can add mass in a bunch of ways. If the bearings really suck (if the cartridge won't float when adjusted for zero tracking force), then you need a better tonearm. Loading is per your preference, but most moving magnets sound best with low capacitance coaxial tonearm cable and zero extra capacitance added at the phono stage. If you can increase the loading above 47K, and reduce the capacitance to the absolute minimum, it will give flatter frequency response with many moving magnets. I recommend looking for the Elliott Sound Products article: "Magnetic Phono Pickup Cartridges".
