Description: "Dyers Daughters - My Lucky Stars and Stripes CD – BRY00008 Here are some things to know: The item in this eBay listing is part of my brother’s collection. All photos are of the item for sale. I not only don’t believe in using stock photos, when it comes to used items, I personally despise them. I believe in prompt payment and you should believe in prompt shipping. Agreed? I will combine shipping for any items purchased within a 7-day period. If you have any questions, please ask. However, I do have a “day job” so I may not have a prompt answer. Welcome to what my sister and I are calling The Humbug Collection. Our brother – Bryan Alfred Hollerbach was born in 1961 and died unexpectedly on Thanksgiving morning 2022. His initials (B.A.H.) and the fact that he was a bit of a curmudgeon most of his life is the basis for the collection name. He never married and spent his entire life and apparently every spare cent he ever earned, amassing a monstrous collection of books, magazines, music, videos, comics, and even a few toys that apparently caught his fancy. How many items? It’s hard to say, but our best guestimate is more than 75,000. Here is what we think is special about this collection: Our brother was meticulous and most of his collection is in excellent or better condition. Most people would look at his books, comics and magazines and think they haven’t been read. His collections are also rather eclectic. He was a writer and copy editor his entire professional career with Not-Quite-A-Masters in English (he didn’t finish his thesis). Apparently whatever he was writing about at the time often drove some of the books he bought. You know, research. He almost never bought used or if he did, it was always the best copy available. To illustrate how our brother cared for his collection, let me share a story from when we were growing up. He was in college, but would come home for the weekends, often with a stack of new comics. He would allow me and my sister to “rent” these comics for a quarter each – with three specific rules. First, they had to be read flat on the kitchen table only after it had been cleaned – AND dried. Second, they had to be read in one sitting. You were not allowed to read part of a comic, then come back later and read the rest. That would cost you an additional quarter. And third, there was no food or drink to be consumed while you were reading. That was strictly verboten. One of the smallest parts of his collection is his music. We have his vinyl records from the 1970s, but that may only be a hundred or so. What we do have a lot of, are his CDs. We have maybe a couple thousand. He had a side gig with St. Louis based music magazine Play St. Louis in the early 2000s and apparently got hooked up with record companies getting promotional copies to review. We also have a file box full of record company publicity information which we will be selling at some point. Thanks for reading and happy hunting! Brad "
