Description: As Pictured, n this appears to be an Illinois River Decoy which bears close resemblance to a carver by the name of Robert Ellison, 1849-1915, Bureau, Illinois. The original paint and feathering are well preserved on this Pintail with an old finish of shellac or varnish. The decoy has some expected wear for age which I would estimate to be around 135 years plus or minus a few. It has never been cleaned in my opinion and it begs consideration for said, by a restoration professional for releasing and highlighting a century plus of detail and color. The weight has long been removed and it is branded MJK which I'm guessing was a rig long ago. The decoy has been in a collection for fifty years and never seen the auction block. Age lines are apparent and tight as pictured. Sold as stated and the buyer will find much to appreciate about this incredible old decoy. Measuring about17" X 51/2" No Buyer Fee, and includes shipping with signature and insurance. In response to questions about the bill, I have posted close-up pictures. It could be the way it was carved or an early repair several decades ago?
