Description: I have for sale a commemorative medal for the first appearance of the Dresdner Kreuzchor at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York City on March 26, 1935. The Dresdner Kreuzchor is a famous boys choir from Dresden, German that goes back 800 years. The medal is attached to a red, white & blue pin back ribbon. The medal is gilted bronze, it is 1 7/16 inch in diameter and in uncirculated condition. Over all it is 3 3/4 inches in length. Franz Eue was the medalists. The medal obverse in the center shows an art deco eagle standing on a red, white & blue enamel shield. At the rim it reads FIRST AMERICAN CONCERT DRESDNER KREUZCHOR. The reverse shows a harp at the top and then reads in German (My translation - The Dresdner Kreuzchor, to commemorate the first concert at the Metropolitan Opera House, is dedicated to the great New York culture.
