Description: This is a 100-year-old reproduction of an engraving by Albrecht Durer. the great German Renaissance artist. The print is titled, “St. Bartholomew.” It dates from 1523. It is Bartsch #47, its reference in the most important catalogue raisonné of Durer’s work. The dimensions of the printed area are: height, 4¾ inches; width, 3 inches. The actual paper on which it is printed is slightly larger so the print can easily be matted and framed, if that is desired. A large folio of very good reproductions of the copperplate prints of Durer was produced in Munich in 1918 by Jaro Springer and published by the famous firm of Holbein-Verlag. The folio measured 17 inches high by 12½ inches wide. The reproductions of the various prints were tipped in, glued onto the pages with a line of adhesive across the top. The print being offered here is from that volume, a copy of which I have owned for about 50 years. Returns are accepted if there is a substantial error in our description.
