Medidas: 22 x 28 pulgadas. Buen estado. Andres Garcia Benitez: He was born on July 10, 1916 in Holguín, Cuba. From his first years of age he showed an inclination towards drawing and painting. He never took drawing and painting lessons, from books and magazines he received his initial guidance, but his itch for originality was striking. He chose plastic elements to create with his own language that, over time, he perfected them and made them more personal. His first covers for the magazine Carteles were sent by post from his hometown to the capital. His first exhibition was made when he had just turned 15 years old in his hometown. When he was little his family moved to Havana. If any influence could be singled out to "Andrés", it would be precisely that of the most sensible and balanced modernism that sometimes reminds us. This painter was known only by the name of "Andrés" with which he signed all his works. Andres Garcia Benitez: Nació el 10 de julio de 1916 en Holguín, Cuba. Desde sus primeros años de edad demostró inclinación hacia el dibujo y la pintura. Jamás tomó lecciones de dibujo y pintura, de libros y revistas recibió sus iniciales orientaciones, pero llamaba la atención su prurito de originalidad. Elegía elementos plásticos para crear con lenguaje propio que, con el tiempo fue perfeccionándolos y haciéndolos más personales. Sus primeras portadas para la revista Carteles las hizo llegar por correo postal desde su ciudad natal hasta la capital. Su primera exposición la realizó cuando apenas había cumplido sus 15 años de edad en su ciudad natal. Siendo pequeño su familia se muda para La Habana. Si alguna influencia fuese dable señalarse a “Andrés”, sería precisamente la del más sensato y equilibrado modernismo que a veces nos recuerda. Este pintor fue conocido solamente por el nombre de “Andrés” con el que firmó todas sus obras.
