Up for sale is the incredible Dr. Feickert Woodpecker with a Reed 5A Teak Wood Tangential Tonearm. State of the art functionality, design and tracking. This combination was well over $17k new at the time. It is the pinnacle of excellence and accuracy in a turntable. Cosmetically 9.5/10, you can see there are no blemishes, the unit is fully functioning and in use. The original boxes for both units, turntable & tonearm are included with this package. The Woodpecker contains the power supply unit and center weight. The workmanship is first rate and very stable as a cartridge platform. The engineering aspects are second to none. Reed 5A Tangential is a 90 Pivot Reference Tonearm in Seashell White, Wenge arm wand, with Finewire C37 + Cryo Ag-4N, 125 cm cable, WBT Nextgen Ag RCA. Since it's a tangential arm which means the stylus is always playing the groove tangentially, perpendicular to the spindle. The benefit is that there is never any skating force generated hence no need for anti-skating correction.This means it has a very stable quality to it with much reduced distortion when playing the inner grooves of a record. The history on the turntable is that since Mo-Fi is the distributor, it was acquired by Mo-Fi directly and was originally owned by a Mo-Fi associate, it should be considered a lightly used demo with two owners, Mo-FI prior to the current owner. Noteworthy is that it was not being used amongst several other turntables at the time of purchase. The prior owner maintained it to insure quality function and accuracy, the new owner has done the same. The reason for selling it is that they have multiple turntables and they simply need the space and wish to downsize. The second owner replaced the original tonearm with the superior and current model in production Reed 5A tonearm (MSRP $10k) and has a minimal amount of use. No blemishes and includes the wooden storage box.
