Description: About the item: From the November 1986 issue of Playboy and also later reprinted in The Art of Doug Sneyd(on page 59), this original art features a preliminary pencil sketch that measures approximately 8 by 10 1/2 inches. There are actually two sketches - and they are taped together (by the artist during the creative process). Not wishing to undo what Sneyd did while creating the art, I am unable to scan the front side of the second sketch (since they are taped together). But, given that they are both drawn on vellum, I scanned the back side of the second sketch. So, while it appears reversed, it really is not. It's just been scanned from the back side. And, again, this was done to preserve the art as it was kept by the artist since its initial creation. Both sketches are hand-drawn by the artist! Also included with the listing is a copy of the final version of the cartoon as it ultimately appeared in that issue (and note the changes to the gag from its initial pencil sketch to the finished version). It measures approximately 3 1/4 by 5 1/4 inches. In excellent condition, they will be shipped with the utmost care and would look great framed together! About Doug Sneyd: Doug Sneyd began his career in commercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers. He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for the Toronto Star, Canada's largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America). In 1964, he began working for Playboy and his gag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since. Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
