Description: About the item: Measuring approximately 8 1/4 by 11 inches and drawn in pencil on tracing vellum, this prelim features the work of acclaimed Playboy artist Doug Sneyd. It is the rough for his gag cartoon for Playboy August 1996. In good condition, it will be shipped with the utmost care (please see scan- as a prelim, it has wear as is to be expected and there are two small areas cut from the piece with replacement artwork taped in... which is part of the artists creative process). Please note- this is an actual, original piece of art drawn by hand by Sneyd. It is not a copy, print or pre-printed image. It is a one-of-a-kind original. Also included with the listing is a Xerox copy of the page from the magazine that features the finished cartoon as well as a Xerox copy of the cover of that issue. About Doug Sneyd: Doug Sneyd began his career in commercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers. He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for the Toronto Star, Canada's largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America). In 1964, he began working for Playboy and his gag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since. Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
