Description: About the item: From the July 2004 issue of Playboy on page 99, this original art features the hand-colored Xerox of the pencil sketch which measures approximately 8 1/2 by 11 inches. Sneyd made a Xerox copy of the pencil sketch, then hand-colored that Xerox. This is part of the artists creative process in making the final cartoon as it will ultimately appear in the magazine. Also shown is a Xerox copy of the cartoon as it ultimately appeared in that issue, which is included in with the listing, as well as a Xerox copy of that issues cover and a Xerox copy of the letter sent to Mr. Sneyd by the Playboy cartoon department about the gag. Would look great all framed together! Please note that the magazine itself is not included in with the listing. The listing is for the original artwork and the Xerox copies of the finished gag, cover, and letter only. About Doug Sneyd: Doug Sneyd began his career in commercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers. He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for the Toronto Star, Canada's largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America). In 1964, he began working for Playboy and his gag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since. Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
