Description: About the item: Measuring approximately 8 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches on standard tracing paper, this original loose pencil preliminary features the work of acclaimed Playboy artist Doug Sneyd. The finished version of this sketch was published in the October, 2013 issue (page 83). In excellent condition, it has nevertheless has tape applied - see scans - affixing the art to a standard piece of copy paper. This was done by the artist himself during the creative process. Please note- this is an actual, hand-drawn piece of art by Sneyd. It is not a copy, print, or pre printed image. It is a one-of-a-kind original. Also included with the artwork is a copy of the page of the issue depicting the final, finished version of the cartoon (which measures approximately 8 1/2 by 11 inches) and is signed by hand by Sneyd. Please note- the signature is real- hand-signed by Sneyd. It is not a facsimile signature. First scan shows both the art and the copy of the finished cartoon. The second shows just the art and the third just the copy. About Doug Sneyd: Doug Sneyd began his career in commercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers. He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for the Toronto Star, Canada's largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America). In 1964, he began working for Playboy and his gag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since. Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
