The collection represents items Mr. Sneyd purchased himself as well as long-treasured gifts from fans and fellow artists. Due to health concerns, Mr. Sneyd decided that now is the time to let others enjoy these books. Included in the collection are volumes from some of the industry's greatest talents. Many are unsigned. However, a select few are autographed and some are personalized by the artist to Mr. Sneyd. Each volume includes a Vault Collectibles Certificate of Authenticity. About the item: From the personal collection of Doug Sneyd, this flyer from the Toonseum features Martinis & Toons - an evening with "legendary Playboy cartoonist Doug Sneyd." Also includes a newspaper clipping as well as photocopies of photos, a photocopy of a sketch (created with aniline dye "wash") that Mr. Sneyd donated to the Pittsburg ComicCon for their 2012 charity auction, as well as other items (see scans). In excellent condition with only minor wear, all of these items are from Mr. Sneyd's personal files and are mementos kept from his time on the convention circuit. The lot will be shipped with the utmost care. About Doug Sneyd: Doug Sneyd began his career in commercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers. He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for the Toronto Star, Canada's largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America). In 1964, he began working for Playboy and his gag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since. Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
