Description: About the item: Appearing in The Ottawa Citizen newspaper in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, in the 1970's, Wee Whimsy cartoons featured artist Doug Sneyd's rendition of a child with his or her humorous misquote. The original artwork was sent to the child whose parent provided their quote to the paper. This weekly 'tearsheet' was sent to newspapers. It measures 8 1/2 by 11 inches and the sheet features six of the Wee Whimsy cartoons. In excellent condition, it will be shipped with the utmost care. This piece is from the files of the artist himself, having been kept by Sneyd since the cartoons original publication in the 1970's. About Doug Sneyd: Doug Sneyd began his career in commercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers. He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for the Toronto Star, Canada's largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America). In 1964, he began working for Playboy and his gag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since. Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
