I’ve been a long time fan of Doris’ vocals especially, and this set includes many obscure tracks I’d never come across before. The CDs come in jewel cases, housed in a cardboard box, and the set includes a beautiful 92 page hardcover book that includes great pictures and stories from Doris’ amazing legacy of her life and performances. The sound quality is very good, having been remastered for this set, and the CDs are all in great condition with no major scratches or blemishes. Soon after I purchased the set brand new in 1993, I transferred the cds to audio files electronically, so they have hardly been played at all. The box itself is in great condition, only having a few minor scuffs and one corner is a bit torn, as seen in pictures. The book itself is in excellent, basically new condition with so many excellent pictures and details about the whole collection! The release title is "It's Magic: Doris Day 1947-1950" and it was produced by Bear Family Records in 1993. The box set is a collector's edition, and the run time is approximately 7 hours. The CDs feature a variety of composers and conductors, with Doris accompanied on some tracks by Gene Nelson, Frank Sinatra, The Pied Pipers and many more! This rare gem is a must-have for any Doris Day fan or music collector. These were the years, in my opinion, that Doris sounded her best as a singer with the music from the late 40s, and before she became a huge movie star and major actress.
