Description: This is a phenomenal oversized antique print from the 1890s. It depicts a beautiful donkey, in wonderful hues. It is a chromolith from a high quality Ernest Nister children's book published in Nuremburg Germany. There is no copyright date, but the style of the reproduction is consistent with other 1890s Nister books I have. An inscription puts it at 1892 or earlier. I consider this series some of the finest chromoliths I have come across. The page has minor damage and yelloeing to the out white margin area..There is text on the back, but the paper is so thick and heavy it doesn't show through. The page is lightly toned with age.
