The paintings are still on display in prominent homes and businesses throughout the city and were published as a collection called Profile of Dallas: Love Affair with a City in 1981. He was a prominent community figure in Dallas in the 1970s and 80s and had the distinction of introducing a group of television producers to Southfork Ranch which then became the backdrop of the long running television show, “Dallas.” A businessman before he became a painter, important member of the community, and memorable contributor to the Southwestern Watercolor Society, Mitchell left his mark on Dallas.
