ABOUT THE ARTIST: Don Hatfield is a California artist who paints mostly seascapes and figurative impressionistic artwork. Much of his subject matter revolves around the family as a theme within a relaxing natural environment and atmosphere. His soft use of color combined with a superb sense of lighting gives his images a certain looseness and fluidity that is hard to find in most artists. This particular piece exemplifies his mastery in the painterly treatment of water. One can almost hear the waves and smell the sea.
