It is a somewhat lesser known, large growing, semi tropical evergreen shrub with an open, branching, tree like growth habit. Pink Cloud has an extraordinary long bloom cycle beginning in the early fall and lasting through the Spring. The blooms are multi-shaded pastel pink flowers that resemble azaleas and bougainvilleas. The flowers are born at the terminal ends of the branches in large ball like clusters. The leaves are medium green, with a somewhat fuzzy textures and shaped similar to a maple leaf. Dombeya has many creative and versatile ways to brighten the sub tropical and tropical garden. Use it as a hedge, boundary, windbreak, or back drop planting for mixed perennial beds. It can be used to anchor and accent corners, to delineate bed changes, or as a stand alone specimen.
