Description: This Ultra rare Doctor Who Audiobook 5x Cd Set of "The Daleks' Master Plan" is superb! Includes The Bonus Episode, "Mission To The Unknown" Audio release of the soundtrack of the 1965-66 12-part story, collectively titled "The Daleks' Master Plan" (at this period in the history of the series, each episode was individually titled, rather than as a part of a larger story). Only three complete episodes of the thirteen survive on film (at the time of this recording, there were only two known). Episode 7, "The Feast of Steven," was broadcast on Christmas, 1965 and originally planned as a Z-Cars crossover. It is the first episode known almost certainly to have been completely deleted from the BBC archives, having been removed from the package of the story intended to be sold abroad to Australia (the ultimate fate of the other eleven episodes, which were sent to Australia for review, remains unknown). The 20-page booklet included provides cast information, production history, and additional detail on this early "Doctor Who" landmark story. This CD set was the final release in a series from BBC Audiobooks, completing the missing episodes which only existed in audio recordings from Season 3, 1965-66. As has been thoroughly documented elsewhere, many early episodes of "Doctor Who" were deleted from the BBC archives through the mid-1970s, heavily impacting the survival of programmes from the tenures of William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton. Previous releases covering Season 3 included "Galaxy Four", "The Myth Makers", and "The Massacre" (qv).
