This is a rare and valuable Disney collectible featuring the iconic Main Street Electrical Parade. This is the First Edition of the very first release in this five piece series. I am selling the first four in the series. I never got the fifth one. What's so amazing about this set is that it lights up and goes through several color changes. You can either use batteries or the power cord which is provided to achieve this. THE SET COMES IN ITS ORIGINAL BOX WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY, A SPECIAL FIRST-DAY PLAQUE AND LETTER FROM DISNEYLAND, AND A POWER CORD. (IT ALSO TAKES 3 AAA BATTERIES, NOT INCLUDED.) The first set of Olszewski's Electrical Light Parade is configured with five individual floats that light up. The floats include: Goofy's Train, Mickey's Drum, Twinking Turtle, Pete's Dragon, and Lightning Bug. The approximate size of the base with the floats on it is 12 1/2" w x 2 5/16" d x 2 1/2" h. The Special First Day Plaque comes with a letter from Disneyland Resorts. The plaque was only given out to people who bought the parade piece on the first day of issue. The plaque reads: "Main Street Electrical Parade Set #1 Premiere March 29, 2008" This sculpture was displayed for a short period without the batteries in it, and then packaged up in its box and stored in a closet with other Olszewski Story Time figures. It is in excellent condition and would make a great addition to anyone's Disney or Olszewski collection. Here's a little about the Main Street Electrical Parade series from the Olszewski website: There are a total of 5 Electrical Light Parade Sets have been released. These 1/220th scale floats can be displayed on their wooden bases as shown or they can be removed from the base and placed on the road of the Main Street, U.S.A. Platform base that houses the entire Disneyland, Walt Disney World's Main Street, U.S.A., and Fantasyland Collections by Olszewski. Build your own parade around your platform. Each float is a delicate item and they should be handled with great care. The floats are attached to the wooden base with a magnet to keep them in place. They are configured with individual LED lights that light up and change colors while lit similiar to that seen during the illuminated Electrical Light Parade at the Disney Parks. Lighting configuration options include an AC Adapter or by using the 3 "AAA" battery. The lights are activated by depressing the small yellow fire hydrant found on the wooden base. After the lights are activated for a few seconds, the lights begin to change colors. It features floats and live performers covered in over 600,000 electronically controlled LED lights, and uses a synchronized soundtrack triggered by radio control along key areas of the parade route. The original parade at Disneyland in California ran from 1972 to 1996, and again in limited engagements in 2017, 2019, and 2022. The neighboring Disney California Adventure park hosted the parade between 2001 and 2010. Another version, at the Magic Kingdom in Florida's Walt Disney World Resort, ran from 1977 to 1991, 1999 to 2001, and 2010 to 2016.
