Description: A bit ago eBay began a new program to "increase the visibility" of seller's items for an additional %age of an items final selling price...that's on TOP of the regular 12.5% Transaction fees (postage is included). Sellers can end up paying TWICE the fees as before. The program is optional but NOT using it means that your items aren't advertised or "seen" as much and so can't compete with others. I've had $5 sales where combined Transaction & Promotional fees have been $3 (over 50%). The $2 leftover doesn't begin to cover what I had to pay for the item itself originally in 99% of the cases...not to mention boxes, tape, bubble wrap, ink, etc... It's particularly hard on small-time sellers for whom high quantity sales aren't a realistic option to make up for the loss per item. I don't want to increase my prices or decrease service. For this reason, I'm going to be choosing not to use the Promotional listings.
