Note: this part is designed for use with a dust collector, not a shop vacuum, which won't provide sufficient airflow. Installation requires removing the planer's top cover or cutting a hole in it (optional). Keep the fan and shroud on the motor to prevent overheating, as removing the fan blade can cause circuit breaker trips or motor burnout. This attachment is made from Black ABS plastic, it will not soften or warp if exposed to direct sunlight or heat.
