Description: DEVIL'S CLAW SEEDS- Thirty (30) Fresh Devil's Claw seeds, a plant that produces an interesting shaped natural seed pod and has many uses. Proboscidea aithaefolia, common names include Satan's Claw, Elephant Tusk, Double Claw and other names. Native to the Sonoran Desert from west Texas to southern Nevada, Arizona southern California and northern Mexico, particularly Sonora. Used by the Pima and Tohno O'Odham and other tribes for the black fiber used in their baskets, as medicine and food! A non toxic plant, the roots of this are used as liver tonic, and for arthritis. The green pods are cooked as a veggie, cooked much like Okra. The seeds can be eaten raw or ground for a mush like dish. A herbaceous annual with yellow flowers, this is a summer bloomer. These seeds are very fresh, wild collected December 2023, hand sorted and cleaned to remove runts or any damaged. The seeds can take up to two years to germinate in the wild, dependent on summer monsoon rains and heat, much faster in a garden with good water. The plant has a sprawling vine form, can grow two feet high, up to about six feet across. We have seen the seed pods used for all sorts of crafts, from wreaths to craft animals and flower arrangements, but even just alone as a curiosity they are great. We have now been forced to charge shipping on these with the upcoming increases in the postage rate and providing tracking on the package. Sorry, but between eBay's penalizing us for not providing tracking and the Post Office rate increases we have no choice.
