The Melbourne to Atlanta covers were processed as regular mail when the Atlanta Airport Mail Facility received them and did not receive backstamps. Some collectors returned their covers for the missing backstamps. This cover was carried on the inaugural Delta Airlines flight from Melbourne, Florida to Atlanta, Georgia (where it was backstamped) and is listed in The American Air Mail Catalogue as DL-D43NW.The Melbourne Postmaster autographed the cover.
