These are basic computer/PC/laptop speakers... that could also be used with a smartphone or MP3 player.. any audio device with a 1/8" (3.5mm) mini stereo output jack. Can use the audio output jack or the headphones jack to pickup the pre-amped audio signal. Work perfectly and in super clean cosmetic shape. They have a freq response of 65 - 17000 Hz, and power rated at 3 watts rms. Really made for low-normal listening levels, for PC/computer sound. On/Off switch and volume knob is on Right speaker. Any speakers of this age will probably output some static as Volume is turned up and down, due to oxidation in its potentiometer. I disassembled the right speaker, and cleaned the Volume control with electronics cleaner (DeOxit5) so the Vol control is now smooth & quiet ! One thing to be aware of is the miniplug is slightly bent from years of being plugged into computer jack in same position. When plugging it into any sound output jack, it sometimes needs to be turned/adjusted a tad but it will make a solid connection, no problem.
