London Gazette 3 June 1919, the original citation states:'For devotion to duty near Parvillers on 14th August. After an attack the location of the line held was not known. He volunteered to accompany the infantry observer, and in two hours they handed in a report showing the front line.'Cornelius Anthony Mulvihill was born at Arnprior, Ontario on 4 November 1892, and was a student upon the outbreak of the Great War. Enlisting at Kingston on 21 March 1916 he entered the war in France on 21 August 1917 and joined 13th Brigade in the field. Taking a gunshot wound to the face the month after his act of gallantry, on 2 September 1915 Mulvihill was taken to 1 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station and thence to 26 General Hospital.
