Description: This is a wonderfully fun articulated Dias de los Muertos Skeleton in a Maroon Color Sombrero as well as his own chair and bottle of Mezcal... ( also have other articulated figures, see photo #5 or go to my Ebay Store). This piece was entirely handmade, hand carved and hand painted by Inocencio Vasquez of San Martín Tilcajete in Oaxaca Mexico. This imaginative Alebrije is a great example of Mexican Folk Art from Oaxaca. This guy would make a great gift for the Day of the Dead collector, or a wonderful addition to your Mexican Folk Art Collection! when laying flat he measures: 7 inches tall by 3 inches wide and 2 inches deep. I recently received an order from Oaxaca with many pieces by this artist....Check my Ebay Store for more pieces by Inocencio... This piece is brand new and he is signed on the soles of his feet. "Inocencio is the creator of several distinctive styles of carved and painted wooden pieces. He is best known for his borrachos (drunkards) often in the ironic form of angels, his human-like devils, and human or human-animal nahual musicians. In Inocencio’s pueblo, residents enjoy recalling the traditional belief that ordinary people can turn themselves into animals at night, particularly when there is a full moon. Many of Inocencio’s creations lend themselves to assemblages, such as four drunken angels or four devils seated on individually carved chairs around a table, or skeleton dancing partners. Another is a band composed of musicians in varied poses such as a marimba trio. Many of Inocencio’s figures have articulated joints, one of his signature features. He prides himself most on his jointed devils." I do combine shipping on multiple items... please follow the instructions below....
