Description: DAS Equinox Marble "Oxblood Babe" Family Lutz GuineaMINTRun Date: 9/27/18 This DAS Equinox marble run was a famous run for having so many families of marbles named. The naming of marbles serves a few purposes for classification, but I prefer to think of the names as a fun way of remembering my youngster years when I was playing marbles in the dirt on the playground during recess time. Some of the names for marbles in this Equinox run include the following: Desert Turquoise, Buttermilk, West Virginian, Oxblood Babe, Superman, Autumn Skies, Citrus Splash, Slimers, Minty Pinks, Christmas Tree, Halloween, Emerald Monarch, Pretty In Pink, Bloody Grinch, Splendor and the famous Peacock. This marble is not a Superman because the yellow is missing. I think this is an Oxblood Babe with the red and blue colors so prominent. Some might call this a hybrid marble which is what takes place as the marble run transitions between two different families. The hybrids can sometimes be even more desirable (such is the case with the Peacock hybrids). In any case, this is one killer Equinox. I would definitely lean toward Oxblood Babe if I had to make a judgement call. The Oxblood Babe family has these aforementioned beautiful royal blue and oxblood pigmented glass colors and this one has some awesome gold lutz chunks and confetti frit which technically make it a guinea style. I try my best to take high resolution pictures with flash to show exactly what you are getting. I try to rotate the marble to give multiple views. This marble was manufactured using the 3/4" machine and the size of this particular marble is 0.719" in diameter measured with electronic calipers.
