The naming of marbles serves a few purposes for classification, but I prefer to think of the names as a fun way of remembering my youngster years when I was playing marbles in the dirt on the playground during recess time. Some of the names for marbles in this Equinox run include the following: Desert Turquoise, Buttermilk, West Virginian, Oxblood Babe, Superman, Autumn Skies, Citrus Splash, Slimers, Minty Pinks, Christmas Tree, Halloween, Emerald Monarch, Pretty In Pink, Bloody Grinch, Splendor and the famous Peacock. This marble is definitely from the Bloody Grinch family with its characteristic oxblood color with light green base glass. This particular marble has some interesting seams in it that normally are not seen in the DAS marbles. Some collectors like these slightly different features...to each his/her own, I say! I try my best to take high resolution pictures with flash to show exactly what you are getting. I try to rotate the marble to give multiple views. This marble was manufactured using the 3/4" machine and the size of this particular marble is 0.705" in diameter measured with electronic calipers.
